DANCING TOGETHER FESTIVAL

13.-14. APRIL 2023

TRINITY LABAN, LONDON

Hosted by Trinity Laban Dance Faculty, Dancing Together Festival is an arts and dance festival for all ages. Focusing on African Diasporic dance, and its connections to Lewisham Borough, the it creates spaces for interactive and participatory learning, while platforming artists, voices and histories local to the area.

The festival was informed by a series of participatory workshops and reasearch done through focus groups of children and young people in the area of LEwisham in London. These focused on understanding the realitionship young people have to the diasporic arts heritage, especially music and dance. From these findings, we curated a free community arts festival, both with interactive learning resources available, new artworks from local diaspora practitioners, and workshops in dance and music  for all ages.
